Painted Fabrics and Chairs

More chairs and blue teapots! The following was something that I painted when I lived in Bologna while I was renovating Caiporri, about 20 years ago. We had bought these antique wooden chairs when we first got married and I needed to re-upholster the seats.

I bought some sturdy white hemp cloth and drew teapots with different backgrounds, with various coloured waterproof pens. One of the backgrounds had birds, one had fish, and another had even more teapots. Then I painted them in different blues with fabric paints.

20 years later, we are still sitting on them, drinking cups of tea!
