Paper Making Lessons Part 1
PART 1. The Glue, the Mulberry Paper and the Wooden Board
The first thing to prepare is the glue (1 cup flour, 3 cups water. The solution MUST BE liquid, therefore, continue adding water if necessary. Stir until smooth [no lumps] and then boil for 20 min. Leave to cool and then place in refrigerator overnight until you use it.) Apply the glue to the mulberry paper – or other fine paper made of tree pulp – with a wide brush.

This is the type of wooden frame you will need to attach the paper to. You can choose the size you prefer, which will also depend on the size of the paper you have.

After you have applied the glue, you will then apply the paper to the frame. More on the techniques on how to apply paper in the next lesson.
