The Year of the Dragon
The Dragon is the fifth animal in the twelve-year Asian zodiac cycle (see dates below).
Dragons are the only sign in the zodiac based on a mythical creature. Although, if you were born in the Year of the Dragon, you would say that this animal was once probably very real, roaming the Great Wall of China, eating warriors while planning architectural fortresses, ruling war faring kingdoms and possibly making up songs about all there was to do. This is a busy sign. It's no coincidence that in China, the dragon was the symbol of the Emperor.
Dragons are the free spirits of the Asian Zodiac with no restrictions to their creativity, filled with energy, ideas and imagination. To be a Dragon is to live life bravely, passionately and innovatively. Whatever journeys those born in the Year of the Dragon embark upon, their explorative spirit will guide them to new paths. Change does not frighten the powerful Dragon.
Fortunately, the Dragon sign is not just courageous and wise, but also benevolent and filled with goodness. This may offset that they can also be stubborn and fervently convinced that they know best. This is not because the Dragon person needs to be right, (they’re quite secure enough to know when they’re wrong), but rationally based on their knowledge, experience and wish to help. Never fear, with the Dragon, common sense is never far off. Wherever the Dragon’s destination, it will be an adventure full of colour.
