Falcon & Pig Painted Box

Jean also paints wooden boxes. She first covers them with paper upon which she draws and then paints, creating three-dimensional pieces of artwork. This box is decorated with Leo the Falcon and Elliot the Pig, both characters from our children's books.

Surrounded by spring roses, here's the secret artwork inside of Jean's box. In keeping with the Elliot story theme, a wonderful image of the pig on the beach lines the bottom of the box and Jean's amazing waves decorate the inside of the lid.

Here are graphic design leaves on one of the sides of the painted box that merge with the tree in the main painting on top of the box.

This is the grass design on the front of Jean's painted box with the antique Korean lock that she added on.

Jean's decorative artwork on this box is both graphic and illustrative. Simple nature and sun shapes, bold colours and humorous animals all add to the story of the box.
